Want to Get Healthy This Fall? Here's How to Do it!

It’s not just the new year that’s great for making life changes! There are often moments in our lives where we feel a little lost, frustrated, or in need of a change. This can pop up at any time. And the good news is, you really don’t have to wait until January 1st in order to make positive changes in your life. If you know that you want to get a better hold on your health, you can start right now. If you’d like to feel better this fall, here are five things you can do to make it happen!

1) Get Clear on Your Lifestyle

One of the best places to start is looking at your lifestyle. When you want to improve your health, look at your daily habits and routine, and get clear on what you really want to change. Do you want to reduce your sugar intake? Do you indulge in any habits such as excessive alcohol consumption or smoking as you get more stressed out? Do you want to make time to exercise? Auditing your lifestyle and being honest with yourself on how you feel now, plus how you want to feel in your healthiest and happiest life, will give you an idea of the best place to begin your healthy journey this Fall.

2) Manage Stress

Stress is one of the biggest causes of illnesses in our modern world. There are always a ton of different factors that contribute to stress in our lives, such as work, family, finances, relationships etc. It may not be possible to completely eliminate stress from your life, so finding effective stress management techniques can be extremely powerful. Some of my favorite stress management ideas include walks outside, meditating, planning well, taking time to relax, and even journaling or speaking with a therapist.

3) Embrace Holistic Nutrition

Nutrition is a powerful tool for telling your cells how to express your DNA. When you eat foods that fuel and nourish your body, it can alleviate feelings of fatigue, balance your hormones and help you to feel your healthiest and happiest self! Holistic nutrition also looks at potentially incorporating some alternative medicines and therapies that have become increasingly popular over the last decade. Many remedies originate in the East – where they’re very common in comparison to Western medicine (which is predominantly made up of pharmaceuticals). If you’re dealing with pain management or even an ailment that an alternative therapy could support, it might be interesting for you to explore the power of Kratom to see if that is an option for you.

4) Get in Better Shape (Body and Mind)

The whole idea of getting in better shape isn’t always about being ‘ripped’ or getting abs (although it can be for some!). The main idea here is for you to take time for daily movement that feels good, boost your physical health, and help your health improve. Aim for daily movement to be a mode of self care, not a punishment to lose weight or to “make up” for what you ate that day. This shift in perspective is a great way to improve the “shape” of your mind as well as your body.

5) Take it Day by Day

Finally, one of the best things you can do on this journey is to just go day by day. When you have an overarching goal, whether it’s to lose a certain amount of weight or hit a training personal best, it can seem huge in the beginning. But remember, any goal is achieved by breaking it down into steps. As long as you’re looking to make progress week after week, you can just take the action needed each day to get there!
