3 Ways to Make Your Pressure/Slow Cooker Your Kitchen BFF

A fantastic crock pot, slow cooker or instant pressure cooker (such as those offered by InstantPot) can a lifesaver addition to your kitchen. They can be used any time of year, for almost any ingredient and create healthy and delicious meals with less effort!

Pressure cookers and slow cookers are so popular because they combine many worthwhile cooking features in one simple countertop product. On top of that, you may be able to easily create certain dishes in much less time and with less cleanup than you may have been able to before.

In this post, we’ll discuss 3 ways to make the most of your pressure cooker and slow cooker. This can help you plan your upcoming meals, larger cooking events and possibly even have a gift idea for someone you love.

Here are the 3 ways to make your pressure cooker/slow cooker your kitchen BFF!

1) Beautiful Roasts

A beautiful roast is unlike anything else, and a pressure cooker or slow cooker can make this much easier to deal with. As you can see with a Mississippi roast, the entirety of a pot roast curated in a slow cooker makes for truly tender eating, and blending the spices and herbs together can infuse the flavor throughout the entirety of that dish. It’s hard not to be delighted about set-and-forget cooking like this, especially when the result is so tasty and profound.

2) Frying & Sauteeing Where Appropriate

It’s easy to think of these appliances as limited to slow cooking, stewing or steaming. But the truth is they are actually really versatile pieces of equipment. Frying foods, for instance, is much easier to do with the Frying or Saute settings that multi-function pressure/slow cookers offer you. They may also have a Sear function, which means you can easily sear meats in the pressure/slow cooker, before you baste and roast them. You may also be able to fry onions and garlic, for slow cooked curries and chilis. On top of that, the fry/sautee setting can function as a means by which to boil foods. It’s a nice blend of functions you’ll come to use at one time or another.

3) Cooking Many Eggs At Once

Convenience is the name of the game in this post, and pressure cookers are fantastic for this. In the standard size pressure cookers such as Instant Pots, you can add roughly fifteen-twenty eggs, set the pressure lid, and cook them all to a perfect hard-boiled degree in roughly five minutes. Because of the pressure steam, the shells are easy to crack off when placed in ice water. Keeping hard boiled eggs on hand in the refrigerator literally just takes moments to prepare.
